Thank you Sematan

Wow, what a great day it was.

First and foremost, our warmest and big THANK YOU to all that came from far and near to participate in this year Shimano Polygon Sematan endurance Challenge. It is your passion and commitment that made this event possible! We trust everyone had a wonderful time and do let us know if there are any short coming or lacking so we can improve the next time.

We also like to express our humble appreciation to the sponsors, the local authority, and the people of Sematan and volunteers that have worked endlessly from beginning of the year until the last hour of the event. Good job.

Names and statistic are currently under compilation. Please return to check the latest results for updates.

We also trust that you have enjoyed the beautiful trail and view of Sematan and made new friends along the way. For those that didn’t make it, there will always be a next time.

And lastly, for those that have completed the Epic Challenge accordingly, wear your finisher shirt proudly. It is indeed a huge achievement to earn it.

May the Love, Grace and Peace of God be with you all.

Things to know…

For safety reasons, please adhere the following:

Things to do

  • Wear your HELMET
  • Get your self check in before the start (ie. name confirmed)
  • Get your card hole punched at all 5 check points
  • There will be a surprise  6th CHECK POINT, where you will get stamp!  :)
  • Finisher will need to passed through ALL the check points +
  • Even if you do not finish, remember to check out your name with us, just to let us know you are safe .

Things to look out for

  • Blue colored Shimano tape with white wording
  • Black & Red tape
  • Banners
  • Strips of paper marking (on ground)
  • Arrow markings (on ground)
  • Road signs
  • hint of fresh bicycle tire mark

Ride safely. Ride responsibly. Leave no trail.

Tips

  • ride in pair or in group, its less tiring
  • keep hydrated, take small sip occasionally
  • beware of your surrounding
  • Shout out and keep an ear for howl from other riders
  • Back track if there is no trail or markings after 50 meters or more

This is Challenge between you and nature.  This is not a race.  Ample time is given for you to complete the course.  Please do not push yourself if you cannot finish.  There is always a next time for you to come back to enjoy nature creation.

8:30 am VIP, Safety Briefing and route details
9:00 am CHALLENGE FLAG OFF by distinguish guest
Check point 1
Check point 2
Check point 3 – 60 km & 100 km Split route. Cut off time 1:00 p.m
Check point 4 – 3:00 p.m
Check point 5 – 4:30 p.m
5:00 pm Last hour for novice 60 km
6:00 pm Last dash for EPIC 100 km riders
6:15 pm Presentation, lucky draws and Gathering

Thank you all for the support and enquiry.  As The Challenge’s date moves closer, everyone seems to be getting more eager and excited (anxious for some!).

For those that have not register, please do so before the closing date on 25th October this month.

Remember to obtain your riding number during the Challenge day as the lucky draw will be based on your riding number.  Come early and register so we can help everyone to have a timely and smooth start off.

Numbers will only be drawn at the end of the event.  Remember to stay back for the fun fill atmosphere as you will need to present personally to claim your prize.

Preview

For those new to this trail,  here are some snap shots of what to expect in The Challenge.

Lots of river / stream crossing.  Expect icy cold mountain water as you splash through them.  Trust us, you will love them in the heat of the challenge


Then there is the rocky hills climb, do expect to work hard! and be rewarded by the downhill descent.


And of of course the infamous single track trail. FSA!

Yup, these are only part of the many exciting route you will be going through.
